PTFCA Carnival - Girls Field Preview
The shot put will be a matchup of two of the nation's top four. Reading's Keeley Suzenski (US#2), who has been PA#1 since the first week of the season, returns again to the circle, looking to improve on her best of 48-1. Greenwood's Mallory Kauffman (US#4) enters with a season best of 46-00.5. PA#4/US#7 Meaghan Toscano of Germantown Academy and PA#6 Maria Deaviz of Souderton are also in this loaded field.
Lydia Bottelier of Palisades returns to the high jump this weekend, an event where her recent PR of 5-10 has her at PA#1 and T-US#4 on the season. Bottelier is the defending state champ in the event and the Pitt recruit will be worth watching for. But this field is loaded with the best of the best from the state. Easton Area's Kate Willshaw and Cheltenham's Brianna Smith (both PA#2) are in the field with season bests of 5-08. PA#4 Kayla Gillen of Twin Valley and PA#5 Calista Marzolino of Abington Heights make this quite the state meet preview.
In the pole vault, Victoria Atkinson (PA#4) of Scranton Preparatory, fresh off a win and PR of 12-5 from the Millrose Games, will be the one to beat. Western Wayne's Trina Barcarola (PA#9) is also in the field.
PA#3 Christina Warren of Perkiomen Valley and PA#6 Smith of Cheltenham are the top seeds in the long jump.
