One of the season's biggest surprises? How about Ewaskey, a senior from CB West who is setting fire to the track in the 800 meters? The lacrosse player is proving to be a quick study, and a terrific talent on the track.
After an eye-popping 1:53 split on West's PA No. 1 4x800, Ewaskey came back on Thursday at Pennridge's Helman Memorial Invitational to set a new PA No. 1 in the open 800. He went 1:54.06, .04 better than Jonah Powell's previous state-leading time.
CB West has won two straight outdoor 4x800 state titles in Class AAA, and the breakthrough of Ewaskey shows the Bucks could make it three-in-a-row.
