AA Girls 400m - Mykala Perry (Neumann Goretti)
Old Record: 54.65 (2010) - Alyssa Lombardo (Saucon Valley)
Perry had her sights set on the 400 meter meet record and the junior went after it on Saturday. Perry repeated as AA girls 400 meter champion, but she dropped a big PR in the process this time around. She went 54.50, breaking Lombardo's 9-year-old record and getting a good challenge from Girard College's Margaret Conteh, who was second in 55.37.
Perry came back later in the meet to anchor the state champion Saints squad in the 4x400 meter relay, once again proving she's a vital cog in Neumann Goretti's wildly successful squads over the past few years. She'll be back for another year next fall to go after her third straight state title and maybe even her own record.
