Individuals Preview

A year ago, Easton's Meghan Vizian pulled off a nice upset of sorts, capturing the D11-AAA individual title as a freshman. Now a sophomore, Vizian will look to keep the momentum going into her sophomore year. She'll have plenty of competition, in what will likely be a very wide open race for the win just like last season.

Stroudsburg's Ciara Conboy was a very close second to Vizian last year in D11-AAA last year, just a second off. Now a junior, Conboy will aim to move up top the top spot. Freedom's Lauren Charboneau will be a factor. The EPC champ was fifth at districts and 37th at states, making her the top returning D11-AAA based on state meet results.

Northampton Area's Georgia Wiswesser, Emmaus' Keerstin Augustin, and Liberty's Emily Jobes are among the other girls returning that finished in the top ten last year at districts.

Team Preview

Easton Area goes for its third straight district crown this fall. The Rovers lose one varsity girl from a year ago led by Vizian and should be in a good position to compete for another title.

Emmaus will be strong, though. After taking third in the EPC, Emmaus rored back to take second to Easton last year and earn the second of two state qualifying spots. They lose two from their top seven, but they are a young squad capable of finding the pieces to compete for the win.

Parkland was fourth last year in the district. It loses Madison Zaun, who was 32nd at states, but brings back its next six. Look for them to make a run at the top two. Liberty, Northampton and Freedom are three teams that can't be slept on with strong No. 1 runners back -- the depth just needs to come to the forefront.

Stroudsburg, which missed out on states by just two points last year, brings back Ciara Conboy, but will have some retooling to do to get in contention for states this season.
