Abington Invitational - Meet Preview
Penn Charter's Emma Zwall is the one to beat in the girls' race at Abington on Saturday. The junior is coming off another strong season last year and is among the top-ranked girls in PA.
Gywnedd Mercy's Kelly Murray, Cheltenham's Janelle Williams, Wissahickon's Leah Dubin, and Downingtown East's Jackie Druecker make up the other strong runners in this field.
Penn Charter, among the PAISAA's top teams this fall, will be among the team's to beat. After Zwall, PC has some talented runners that will make it a force this fall. Downingtown East, Spring Ford, Upper Dublin, and North Penn will look to get in the mix for the team title.
In the boys' race, Haverford's Mike Donnelly will look to start his season off on the right foot. The junior will be favored in his first invite of the season at Abington. Spring Ford's John Zawislak, Methacton's Matt Varghese, and the Council Rock South duo of Shane Goldman and Christopher Sears are among the others that will look for the upset.
In the team race, Council Rock South will look to hold off challenges from Haverford, Wissahickon, and Great Valley among others.
