5/23-Leach, Thomas, Hallinan star as O\'Hara takes both titles at PCL Champs @ Widener University

Nicole Leach and Latavia Thomas did everything possible to try to help their West Catholic team win the girls title, but they came up a point short as Cardinal O\'Hara finished 3rd in the 4x400 to tally 98 points. Leach and Thomas most won everything in sight (with obvious help from the relays). Leach ran 12.10, 24.43, 54.32 and 1:00.63 400 Hurdles, breaking her own league meet record in each event. Thomas won the 800 in 2:17.19 and was 2nd in the 400 Hurdles in 1:02.29, and anchored the winning 4x400 to a 3:55.99 meet record, breaking the West Catholic mark set in 2000. Thomas also picked up 3rd place points in the Mile, going 5:19.83. Amy Kelly, St. Hubert\'s won in 5:02.58. Senior Steve Hallinan led the O\'Hara boys to the PCL title. He dueled Carroll senior Mike Tilger in the fast Mile, winning in 4:14.08 by 1.8 seconds. His mark broke the 11 year old record set by Bonner\'s Brendan Benner. Hallinan also captured the 800 in 1:55.60. Bishop McDevitt\'s Julian Edwards won three events, the 100 in 11.23, the 200 in 22.5, and the 400 in 49.0; and anchored his 4x400 to a 3:27.6 win. Juan Cave set a meet record by clearing 6-08.50 in the High Jump. He also anchored the winning 4x100 for St. Joseph\'s Prep. Kevin Moore, LaSalle, unleashed a 195-04 Jav; while Bonner\'s Earl McNeil won the Shot (49-04.75) and the Discus (145-08).
