Throwback: Price-Whitehead Leaps 25 Feet

It was early in the day at the TFCAofGP Meet of Champions, but that didn't stop some history from being made on the backstretch runway at Lehigh's Rauch Fieldhouse.

Upper Dublin junior Jaden Price-Whitehead pulled out a big leap on his first attempt in the long jump. He soared 25 feet even, which bettered his own state- and national-leading mark in the event.

With the outdoor season on hold for the time-being, let's look back on Price-Whitehead's big jump from the indoor season. He became just the second boy in state history to eclipse the 25 foot mark, joining the national record holder Dion Bentley.

Price-Whitehead would go on to win his first state title a week later. At Penn State, Price-Whitehead jumped 24-3.25, his second best jump of the season, to capture the long jump crown. New Balance Nationals Indoor was canceled, but Price-Whitehead would have entered the event as the top seed and favorite.

Whether we will get a chance to see what the junior can do outdoors remains to be seen. But one thing is for sure: Price-Whitehead will be one to watch over the next year-plus in the jumps.
