Bria Barnes made a major statement at the Henderson Invitational last season. It was her outdoor season debut in the event, and she made it count.
After getting out of the blocks well, Barnes, now a freshman at Iowa State, rolled to a convincing win in 54.45. It was a dominant effort by the Cheltenham sprinter.
It was just the start of a huge spring in the one-lapper for Barnes, who went on to runaway with the PIAA District 1 AAA title later in the season and take second in one of the fastest 400s in state history, running a time of 53.39.
