A year ago, a pair of Germantown Academy distance runners put on a show in the distance events at the Inter-Ac League Championships.
On the girls' side, Isabelle Goldstein won all three distance events, capturing league titles in the 1600 meters, the 800 meters, and then the 3200 meters. On the boys' side, Robert DiDonato followed suit, earning the same distance sweep for himself.
This coming weekend would have brought us a heavy helping of league and conference championship meets. The coronavirus forced the cancelation of all the meets in Pennsylvania this spring. Saturday would have brought us the Inter-Ac League Championships, bringing together some of the top private school squads in the state.
Goldstein won the 1600 in 4:57, the 800m in 2:21, and the 3200m in 10:50, while DiDonato went 4:25 in the 1600m, 1:58 in the 800m, and 9:42 in the 3200m.
