Throwback Interview: Devonshire After 100/200 State Titles

Aliquippa's Marlin Devonshire cleaned up in the sprints at the PIAA State Championships last year in Class AA.

The speedy Devonshire went 10.85 to win the 100 meter state title, decisively. He was the only one in the field that broke 11 seconds. He wasn't done. Later in the day, the senior went 21.85 to win a tight one for the title, which saw Ian Thrush take second in 21.90.

A week before the state meet, Devonshire was also dominant at the District 7 (WPIAL) Championships. He ran a PR of 10.67 to run away with the 100 meter title and then came back to clock another PR and district title, with a 21.73 in the 200 meter final.

He just finished up his freshman year at the University of Kentucky where he redshirted last fall at cornerback for the Wildcats football team.
