Talitha Diggs wanted to leave her mark on high school track and field one last time before she headed off to the University of Florida. The Saucon Valley graduate did just that, claiming the second of her two national titles on Saturday at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Satellite Beach, Florida.
After capturing the 200 meter win on Friday, Diggs returned Saturday for the 100 meter final. Diggs dropped a time of 11.60 for the win to make it two-for-two on the weekend for Diggs in Florida. She faced an early challenge to her right from Autumn Wilson, but she unfortunately pulled up, only to finish eighth.
From there, Diggs pulled away from the field to take the victory. Diggs' winning time of 11.60 was slightly wind-aided (+2.7), but that was still a strong time. Last year at NBNO, Diggs ran a wind-legal 11.52, her PR. It was certainly a successful weekend for Diggs, who is set to leave for Gainesville and the Gators on August 24.
