Individuals Breakdown

Central Cambria's Stella Kuntz will be on the hunt for her third straight District 6 AA individual title. She won as a freshman and last year as a sophomore. Now Kuntz will once again be the one to beat, as she goes for a three-peat. Kuntz wound up 22nd at the state meet, a second straight podium appearance.

Central Cambria had three other girls in the top five of the district last year with Annaliese Niebauer placing second, Abbie George taking third, and Faith Wilson fifth. Those girls are also back and will once again have a good shot at high finishes.

Paige Greathouse of Forest Hills was the girl to break up that CC grouping, taking fourth in the district last season, before a 43rd place finish at the state meet. Now a senior, she is back for more this fall.

A big challenge up front will come from the AA newcomers Westmont Hilltop. WH's top girl from district meet last year, Bridget Barbato, was third at Indian Valley MS. Ellie Dorian was fifth in the district and then 16th in the state. WH's Avari Admire was also a Class A state medalist, placing 24th at Hershey. Julia Dill was ninth in the district as a freshman and should be a factor in AA this fall, as well.

Bellefonte's Mia Elmore and the Forest Hills duo of Danielle Dumm and Delaney Dumm will be among the other girls to watch for in D6-A this fall.

Team Breakdown

Central Cambria won its second straight district crown in 2019. The Red Devils went on to take fourth in the state in what was a very strong season in AA. The full varsity squad is back for Central Cambria this season, so another run at a district title and perhaps its second state title in three years could be in the cards.

Kuntz is a solid No. 1 and the team has solid depth with Niebauer, George, and Wilson. It looks like the Red Devils will be among the state's top AA squads once again this fall.

A team that could give a challenge to Central Cambria is Westmont Hilltop, a team that won the District 6 Class A title last season. WH brings back its full varsity squad, too, and should be able to supply a good threat to the top spot. It should get interesting in D6-AA with just one state qualifying spot up for grabs.

Forest Hills was second in D6-AA last season. FH loses one girl from last season, but has its strong No. 1 in Greathouse back this season. They will look to make a run at the two favorites. Bellefonte Area and Philipsburg-Osceola Area are other teams that are worth watching for here.
