Timberg Clears 13-6.25 At East Coast Invite

Chloe Timberg made another climb up Pennsylvania's all-time list in the pole vault. The Central Bucks West senior cleared 13-6.25 at the East Coast Invitational at Virginia Beach over the weekend.

For Timberg, it's a nearly two-inch improvement on her previous best and moves her up one spot on the all-time Pennsylvania list. At the VA Showcase earlier in the winter, also held at the Virginia Beach facility, Timberg vaulted 13-4.5, which was at the time a PA No. 3 all-time performance.

Now Timberg goes to PA No. 2 all-time, surpassing Sydney Horn's best of 13-6 from last season by a quarter inch. Only Katie Jones' 2017 state record of 13-9.25 stands above Timberg's best on the all-time state rankings.

Timberg cleared 13-6.25 on her second attempt. She had already won the competition on her first clearance of the meet at 11-7. Then she cleared 12-1 and 12-8 on her first attempts before moving the bar up to 13-6.25. She missed her attempts at 13-10, which would have broken the PA state record. Meghan Hart from Unionville placed second in the girls pole vault at the East Coast Invite, clearing 11-1.

Currently, Timberg is tied at US No. 5. Emery Prentice and Heather Abadie -- both from Lousiana -- are tied for the top spot in the nation after clearing 13-9 on Jan. 23 in Texas.
