AAA Boys Triple Jump Preview
There are a number of boys who will be aiming to take gold in the AAA triple jump, and similar to the long jump, there is a lot of talent here. It should get interesting.
Entering the weekend at PA No. 1 is Kasey Savage of Hatboro-Horsham. The senior jumped 47-11.5 to win at SOLs and then claimed the District 1 last week with a jump of 46-10.25. He's faced good competition in both of those wins and looks to be in a good spot entering the state meet.
Kyle Murr of Penn Manor has emerged as a quality threat to the top spot in the state. He jumped 47-10 at the L-L League Championships and then followed that up with a 47-10.25. He's jumping very well in the postseason and he could be primed for another big weekend back on that Shippensburg runway.
But, of course, we can't forget about Jaden Price-Whitehead of Upper Dublin. The senior has an indoor PR of 48-8 and is as talented of an athlete as they come. He placed second to Savage at both SOLs and District 1. He will look to move up and take the top spot on Saturday, and he certainly has the potential.
Shippensburg's Jacob Cramer (District 3 runner-up), WPIAL champion Dwayne Taylor of North Allegheny, District 9 champion Gavin McGee of Bradford Area, District 11 champion Jordan Wicker of Nazareth Area, District 12 champion Jude Butumbi of Northeast, and Jasir Parker of East Stroudsburg South are among the other top triple jumpers with a good shot of placing within the top five.
