About The Live Like Brent Foundation
The Live Like Brent Foundation, part of Carve for Cancer, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit that was founded in 2010, is dedicated to the mission of fighting blood cancers while inspiring others to live an impassioned life. The non-profit was conceived by blood cancer warrior, Brent P. Evans in 2010 when he was diagnosed with stage IV non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. While being treated in Philadelphia, Brent envisioned an epic snowboarding and music festival to raise funds to "shred" blood cancer. By 2012, the first grass roots fundraiser was underway in the Pocono Mountains and numerous events quickly spread across the Tri-State area. This includes golf outings, movie premiers, 5K races, skateboarding competitions, and a 5-year Gala. In 2016, unfortunately Brent's cancer returned and he ultimately passed away due to complications with the disease in 2017. In memory of his amazing spirit and can-do attitude, his family and friends launched the Live Like Brent Foundation to honor his passion, bravery and unselfish soul. Today, Brent's vision remains strong and an army of dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to increase awareness, assist patients with financial needs and raise funds for research for our partner hospitals from Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania.
