Interview: Mulhern On Her Fourth Place EBNE Finish

It's been a relatively quiet XC season so far for Jenna Mulhern. But it heated up on Saturday and it will stay that way for the next two weeks.

Mulhern didn't compete for West Chester Henderson this year as she has for the last three seasons. Instead, she opted to compete unattached, racing against mostly non-high school competition before Saturday. Then the senior Mulhern squared off against high schoolers at this past weekend's Eastbay Northeast Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City.

Mulhern placed fourth in 17:46 to book herself a spot in Eastbay National Championships, set for two weeks from last Saturday in San Diego.

Mulhern chatted with us after the race about how the race played out, how fun it was to race high schoolers again, and her expectations for San Diego. Check out the interview above. It will be a quick turnaround for Mulhern, who is entered in the Garmin RunningLane XC Championships in Alabama on Saturday.
