It seemed like Micah Trusty was itching for a fast time. On Saturday, she got that fast time and a national title to boot, winning the Championship 800 meters at Nike Indoor Nationals at Ocean Breeze.
Trusty, a Friends' Central senior and Villanova signee, clocked a time of 2:07.32 for a new indoor PR to capture the win out-dueling Lauren Tolbert of North Carolina. That time moves Trusty back into the PA No. 1 spot and up to US No. 5 in the event this season.
The win at Ocean Breeze comes on the heels of Trusty's state title two weeks ago in the event at the PTFCA Indoor State Championships. At Penn State, Trusty went 2:11.21 for the win. Here, Trusty dropped some big time on Saturday to win the national title.

With her time, Trusty now sits behind just Chanelle Price, Gabrielle Wilkinson, and Latavia Thomas on Pennsylvana's all-time indoor list. She will enter the outdoor season at PA No. 7 all-time, with a good chance to move up.
