Atop returners rankings for PA Independent/Private, Michael Woolery hails from Episcopal Academy.
Woolery enjoyed a strong 2021 season from start to finish. It began with a win an impressive win at the Atkinson Invitational (Sept. 18). He ran away from a deep field, featuring Downingtown East and Phoenixville Area.
In October, he earned a runner-up finish at the PA Independent School Championship (PAISAA), finishing in 17:19 on the famous Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia. That time represented the 22nd fastest time on the course state-wide last year. To punctuate his season, he finished second at the Garmin RunningLane Cross Country Championships in the Blue Race, with his best 16:01.
He added a third-place finish at the PTFCA Indoor Track and Field Championship in the mile (4:14) and two PAISAA championships in the 1600m (4:22) and 800m (1:57.97) outdoors.
