POWER RANKINGS: Top 10 Girls Teams - Edition #2

These Power Rankings are not meant to predict the Outcome of State Meets in November. In fact, some schools on this list aren't even in the same classification.

Because Cross Country is so unpredictable and there are so many variables at play, these power rankings are somewhat speculative. They are derived from a combination of performances, analytics, and opinions.

There was some movement at the bottom of this week's list. But this upcoming week may be even more telling, as most of the state heads to Carlisle or PIAA Foundation.

Girls Top 10 Teams - POWER RANKINGS Edition #2

RANK(PREV)TEAMRATIONALE
1 (1)

North Allegheny scored another victory at the Boardman Spartan Invitational.

2 (2)

Dallastown was victorious at the Ben Bloser Bulldog Invitational. Dallastown placed three in the top 10 to average 19:40 and score a 47 point victory.

3 (3)

We haven't seen Emmaus in action since their dominant success at Northampton, but we expect the squad to be at Carlisle this week and we look forward to watching them wreak havoc again.

4 (4)

Most recently, the squad won the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational by placing five girls in the top seven. We haven't seen them in action since. They'll get their first real test at the PIAA Foundation Invitational this week.

5 (5)

Hershey didn't compete at a large invitational this week but the tale of the tape from PTXC 13 remains. We look forward to seeing Hershey in action again at Carlisle where they will see Emmaus for the first time.

6 (8)

Peters Township edged out South Fayette in dual meet action last week and have traded spots with South Fayette in early season Invitationals. These teams are about as evenly matched as it can get.

7 (6)

As mentioned above, Peters edged out South Fayette in dual meet action last week. That was the only action that South Fayette saw, but they'll be at PIAA Foundation this week.

8 (7)

We still haven't seen Mount Lebanon at full strength. They didn't run their A-squad at the Boardman Spartan Invitational, but still finished 11th with a 21:38 average.

9 (9)

Manheim hasn't competed in Invitational action since the Riverside Kickoff Classic in August. They are slated to run at PIAA Foundation this week and we are excited to see their progression.

10 (NR)

Central Bucks West looked strong as they grabbed gold at the George School Invitational. They were lifted by a 1-5 split of just 56 seconds. They may be interchangeable with a couple NR schools, but we'll give the nod to Central Bucks West after their stout victory.

NR (10)

Central Cambria slipped out of the rankings but we're not forgetting what they're capable of. We still believe they belong in this Top-10. Foundation will be a great opportunity for us to gauge where they're at in respect to the rest of the state.

Teams on the Bubble (NR): Chambersburg, Beaver Area, Pine Richland.
