Today - we'll look at the boys returning from last year's District 11 Championship. We also added each athletes respective 3200m time (if they ran the event during the outdoor season) as a reference to their potential improvements.
Paul Abeln (Parkland) immediately sticks out on paper and in the rankings. He won last years D11 3A Championship before heading off to the state championship where he finished 35th. On the outdoor circuit he performed strong as well - winning the District 11 3200m championship and finishing 22nd at States where he ran 9:27.35.
Of course, the boy he beat at the District 11 XC Championship in 2022 was Giovanni Mastromonaco (Nazareth). Mastromonaco was arguably the favorite heading into that race last year, but suffered a season endin...
