NCAA Womens Teams - The College Rundown Week 5

Division I Ranks

Mid-Atlantic Region No.4 Penn State and others will race Paul Short, No.3 Penn will run at the Battle in Beantown, and No.6 Villanova will join both schools with a split squad for the weekend. (Rankings via USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll).

Paul Short Invitational:

Penn State is back in action for the first time since their dominating victory at the Spiked Shoe Invitational. Faith DeMars has set the precedent for the Nittany Lions. She is a sure front-runner, leading teammates Florence Caron, Madaline Ullom, and Sophia Toti. 

Villanova, Bucknell, and Lehigh are other top teams that will race at Paul Short. Standout individuals on these squads are Villanova's Sadie Sigfstead, Bucknell's Abigail Paczewski, and Lehigh's Maddison Hayes.

Battle in Beantown:

Penn is shipping up to Boston for some out-of-state competition. Look for Zoe Shetty, Kelly Murray, and Miranda Schriver. Penn's closely matched front three could prove vital for the team's success. 

Note that Villanova is also entered to compete at the Battle in Beantown. The team will likely operate with a split squad, sending some athletes to Boston while keeping some in PA to compete at Paul Short. 

Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational:

Pitt goes out of state this weekend to race at Notre Dame's Invitational. Winnie Incorvaia, Sadie Carey-Tharp, and Emily Brown are some of the Panthers to pay attention to in Indiana.
