At the District 1 Championship, 12 boys teams ran 7:56 or faster in the 4x800m, but only eight teams will advance to the PIAA State Championship.

To qualify for the state final, teams must hit the State Qualifying Standard (8:02.04) and finish in the top eight at their respective District Championship. 13 Teams hit the State Qualifying Standard at the 3A District 1 Championship, but it took a stunning 7:52.98 to finish in the top eight.

For reference, the 7:52.98 run by Abington, currently ranks at the PA No. 12 slot. This meant heartbreak for Downingtown West, Central Bucks East, Upper Dublin and Great Valley who all ran season best marks and will finish the season ranked inside the PA Top 20.

Meanwhile out front, Central Bucks West continues to assert its strength in the event. The team finished second at the PTFCA Indoor State Championship, and then finished third at the Penn Relays with a 7:45.99. Their school record is a 7:38.79, which they'll likely be eyeing at the State Championship after running 7:41.79 at the District 1 Championship.

Valiant efforts by Penncrest (7:42.33), Souderton (7:44.30), Council Rock North (7:45.55), and Spring Ford (7:48.97) led all four teams under the 7:50 barrier.
