GREENSBORO, NC - At the AAU Junior Olympic Games on Monday, Lancaster City Track Club's Vivian Salerno ran a big personal best en-route to winning her 800m semi-final.

The rising freshman rolled through the opening round of the Age 15-16 800m with a 2:13.94. There is certainly reason to think she can go faster. She split a 65-second opening quarter before taking the lead with 200 meters remaining.

She grabbed a gear, but seemed to have some run left in her legs at the finish.

Salerno's previous personal best was a 2:19.54 from the AAU Region 2 Qualifier. She shaved nearly six seconds in this latest effort.

Friend Centrals' Neenah Trusty finished third in the 800m semi-final with a 2:16.62. She is representing Infinity Track Club. Her previous season best of 2:13.23 certainly puts her in the title conversation. The rising sophomore just earned Pennsylvania All-Freshmen Team Honors in the 400m.
