As the state is pushing its way into the regular season, standout youngsters are starting to make a name for themselves.

The Pennsylvania season will continue through November, with post-season competition extending to December. In that time, we'll be highlighting some of our "Future Stars".

These are athletes, typically underclassmen, who have the potential to be stars tomorrow. We will highlight a couple of athletes each week.

Noah Scholnick

Williamsport Area - Class of 2028

Scholnick currently tops the freshman rankings with the 16:30 that he posted at the 26th Annual Bear Mountain River Run on August 31st.

Scholnick finished eighth amongst a relatively strong field. For reference, he finished just behind Brandon Henry (Saint Marys Area). Henry finished 86th at last year's PIAA Championship (2A) and he is projected to finish inside the top 45-50 this season.

Scholnick was also the top runner for Williamsport, and the team finished fourth.

Kendra Williamson

Episcopal Academy - Class of 2027

Williamson, a sophomore at Episcopal Academy, has come out of the gates soaring in 2024.

At her first invitational of the season, the Abington XC Invitational on September 7th, Kendra Williamson was dominant. She posted an 18:36.59 and finished over 30-seconds ahead of the next runner.

On Wednesday, September 11th, Williamson broke the Episcopal Academy course record.

Her emergence shouldn't come as a huge surprise. In the spring, she ran 5:08 over 1600m and 11:30 over 3200m.

In the 1600m at the PA Independent School Athletic Association Championship, Williamson finished third behind Ella Cook (Westtown) and Alli DeLisi (Penn Charter)
