Kerry Meagher, a 2001 Allentown Central Catholic graduate, and Stephanie Madia, a two-time PIAA cross country stste champion from North Allegheny, helped Notre Dame University to a 3rd place team finish at Friday Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend.
Meagher, a 2004 NCAA Division I All-American in the 1500 (4:16.8 pb) and mile (4:40.67 indoors), finished 5th in 5k x-c race in 16:45, while Madia was 17th with a time of 17:11. Teammate, Molly Huddle's 2nd place (16:31) lead the Irish. Frosh Sunni Olding was the 4th Irish finisher in 31st with her 17:31.
Winner Sara Bei (16:22) and Alicia Craig (16:34) lead defending national champion Stanford to the team title.
Kerry's ex-teammate at ACCHS, Frances Koons, now a Villanova frosh, had a strong first meet at Paul Short last week with a 14th place finish (21:24 for the 6k distance), 3rd Wildcat finisher.
