10/9-Carroll wins DELCO champs for first time ever as Thomas rips 15:55. O\'Hara girls prevail.

Archbishop Carroll is sitting on top of the Delaware County world today after winning their first boys\' county championship ever. A three-time runner-up in the 40-year-old event, Carroll had to defeat nine-time champs (including the last four) Cardinal O\'Hara. The score was 45-74 after Chris Tilger, Ryan Kincade, John Savoy and Pat Savoy went 2-3-5 and 11. Tilger ran 16:26. Race favorite Greg Thomas won his first Delco championship, going 15:55 on the cool, comfortable day. The O\'Hara girls got back on the winning track after giving up last year\'s title to Radnor, tallying 57 points to hold off an improved Strath Haven team by 13. O\'Hara\'s Katie Kelly started the scoring the way the coaches like it, with a single point, crossing the line in 19:03 on the challenging 5k course.
