10/9-Lower Dauphin Middle School MOC gives 7th-8th graders chance to shine

The Lower Dauphin Middle School Race of Champions offers separate 2-mile 7th and 8th grade races for boys and girls, and a 1-mile elementary fun run, and a 200 yard mascot race. The course is relatively flat, with a few rolling hills. There were medals given to the top 10 in the middle school races, and ribbons given out for places 11-25. The only mascot present was from Lower Dauphin, however a few kids from other schools decided to give him a race. Hopefully more mascots will come out to next years race to make it a little more entertaining. The weather was cool and sunny, and perfect for a cross country meet. The atmosphere Lower Dauphin created was a lot of fun, and the day was very well organized. This is a meet that all middle schools in the area should attend. It is a fast race with tough competition, and a fun environment. It was announced that next year's race will be run one week later to avoid conflicts with soccer tournaments held the same weekend. Check out the results. They're the future of our sport.
