10/28-Wellsboro girls - Lewisburg boys take AA honors in District 4

Some new blood and some familiar teams will be racing at States thanks to clutch performances in District 4. The Wellsboro girls have been running well all year, and it didn't change at Districts as three underclassmen led them to their qualifying spot. Heather Sayre, a sophomore, was 4th in the race in 20:14. Top honors went to senior Ashley Schuck of Milton in 19:41. In AA boys, it was Lewisburg again. Senior Kevin Schoenfelder took 2nd to lead his team back to Hershey. Danville's Steve Shirley was 1st in 17:08. The AAA champion Williamsport girls were led by the 3rd place finish of Samantha Colvin. Shikellamy junior Lindsey Scheller posted the fastest tim of the day, a 19:36. It was a championship sweep for the AAA Shikellamy boys as senior Stephen Thompson won in 16:30, leading four teammates across the line in the top 13.
