1/8-West Catholic runs fast, including a US#1-Veney 40\'+ SP @ Montgomery MD @ PG Sportsplex

West Catholic girls were trying to make a statement this weekend, and they did. What was their statement? \"who needs a banked track?\" The girl\'s from WC took home 3 (and almost 4) meet records at the Montgomery Invitational in Landover, MD. Nicole Leach posted a 54.90 - US#1 - to win the 400m and take both the MR and the Field House record! Latavia Thomas ran a quick 2:12.73 to take a victory and a meet record in the 800m. Then, the girls broke the meet record in the 4x200, running 1:42.72, but were beat out by Virginia\'s Bethel HS in 1:41.58. The girl\'s got the job done in the 4x400 though, winning the meet and taking the final record of the day in 3:58.79. Other performances from PA runners came from WC\'s Kniesha Sheard who made consulation finals in the 55H, running 8.99. WC\'s Christina Taylor ran a good 400m in 1:00.71 and Perk Valley\'s Ashley Pultorak was up there in 1:02.90. Baldwin senior Jordan Veney took over the top spot in the PA Shot Put race with a big throw of 40-07.25, winning the event.
