The next generation of PA athletes was on full display this past weekend, and they all came in full force.
John Kane of Bala Cynwyd Middle School went crazy this weekend, running both the mile and 800m, where he placed 7th in the 800m, running 2:03.37 and 4:42.61 over the mile.
Brandt Rogers also ran both the 800m and mile, going 2:07.63 and 4:41.86, respectively. Rogers opened his season at NBNI, and it was definitely a good season opener as he prd in both events on the indoor circuit.
Christian Blanco had himself a weekend, going 52.81 over 400m and 7.54 in the 60m dash. Blanco opened his season at NBNI and took just over a full second off his outdoor pr from last year at AAU Regionals.
Richard Martin has had one very impressive indoor season so far; his peak couldn't have come at a better time, where he ran 7.32 in the 60m prelims at NBNI to make the finals. The week prior, he ran 23.23 over 200m at AAU Nationals.
Viviana Tornatela may only be in 7th grade, but she is already putting down times that could compete with some of the state's best. Tornatela just ran 5:07.71 over the full mile, and the week prior at AAU nationals, she ran 2:21.67 over 800m.
Penelope Wood has had herself an insane last few weeks and capped it off with a 5:11.88 pr over the full mile at NBNI. The week prior, she ran 2:29.10 over 800m and won the 3k in a time of 10:40.58, with a pr earlier in the season of 10:35.94.
