Former 'Ville coach Keith White, and current distance coach Andy Young sporting black armbands...

The impending cut of the men's T&F and XC program at Millersville University has caused quite a stir in the community. There are onlline petitions... and stories detailing the emotional toll that this will cause, and the impact that the program has had on the lives of both men and women at the University. To demonstrate support for keeping the program alive, former Millersville coach Keith White (now an assistant at Kutztown University), and current Millersville distance coach Andy Young, are supporting the display of a black arm band. Obviously if you show up with one at the PTFCA Championships, it can't be worn during competition.

February 21st Statement from former Millersville Head Coach Keith White:

Dear Team,
My 1st public comment on the attempt by Millersville to drop Men's Track and Field is today, a week after the shock of the announcement.   When I was fired I never cried.   I knew that I had a lifetime of grand experiences and those of you I met along the way made my life special.   I have cried every night since last Tuesday.  When I awoke this morning I decided to stop feeling sorry and do something. "FIGHT”   Losing the programs is not an option.  Your teammates need your help!  Let’s be together again for the common good, for something bigger than us all....
