Keith Capecci is out of the 3000 at PTFCA States with a minor, but untimely injury. That, obviously, is the bad news. But, he has also made his college selection.
State XC runner-up and Foot Locker Finalist Keith Capecci of Council Rock North will not race in the 3000 today at the PTFCA Indoor Championships at Penn State University after tweaking a hamstring on Monday morning during a workout. He took off three days, but the trainer advised that racing this weekend might jeopardize some of his outdoor season. \"It took a lot of thought,\" Capecci told PennTrackXC this morning, \"... but I decided not to go Thursday night. It felt tight Friday but feels a lot better this morning.\"
But the good news from Capecci is that he has selected the University of Arizona. With that choice out of the way, Capecci says he can now concentrate on running a fast 5000 at the Council Rock home invite, and on the 3000 at the Penn Relays and then going after that elusive state championship in outdoor.
You\'ll be missed today Keith.
