On Day one of the 15th Asian Junior Athletics Championships in Columbo, Sri Lanka, Praduman Singn of Upper Darby; competing for the Indian Junior team; launched the shot 59-05.75 in the prelims, but in the finals where distances count for place, put the shot 53-08.50 for 7th.

 Angel Piccirillo took the lead into third lap and battled 2011 champion Cami Chapus of California to the line. Chapus held on for a US#8 AT 4:39.66. Piccirillo's official time was US#11 AT 4:39.94, and Allie Cash was a US#12 AT 4:39.98. With Mary Cain's Penn Relays win of US AT#6 4:39.28, four runners are under 4:40 this season. |

7th Annual John Hay Memorial Pennsylvania Distance Festival

 Joey Logue of Pennridge led four PA 800 meter runners to lifetime bests to end their 2012 outdoor seasons. Logue won section 3 of the elite 800 meter run with a time of 1:51.59. 2nd place went to AAA 1600 meter champion Tom Coyle of Lasalle in 1:51.78 while teammate Andrew Stone ran 1:52.35 for 3rd and Swenson's Haneef Hardy was 4th in 1:52.58. Maria Seykora of Notre Dame ran 2:12.11 in the women's elite 800 meter run, competing against elite half milers looking for olympic qualifying marks. The fans at the meet did see an Olympic "B" Standard performance from Tevan Everett, the former Texas product, who ran 1:46.02 in section 1 of the elite 800. Other highlights included Cardinal O'Hara boys head coach Tom Kennedy running 5:10.46 in section two of the open mile run. Elise Claffey of Great Valley ran 5:09.53 for 2nd in the the same race. Sam Ritz of Germantown Academy won the open 800 meter run in 1:57.83 |
