The premier tune-up for Penn Relays put on another show, as teams came from Maryland and New Jersey to mix it up with some top PA talent. John Fudge of Simon Gratz, had a great day, winning the 400 Hurdles in 56.57, the Long Jump with a leap of 20-08.75, and running on the winning 4x100 squad that went 43.37. Abington's boys beat Gratz by a whopping eight seconds in the 4x400, going 3:18.06. O'Hara's DMR came up less then three seconds short with their 10:32.53, losing to NJ's Hunterdon Central (10:30.18). Christina Smith of William Penn was also a triple winner, taking the 400 Hurdles in 61.22, the High Jump, clearing 5-0, and helping the 4x100 win in 47.73. Penn's 4x400 lost by just .05 to Western, of Baltimore, going 3:52.36. Western also played the same tune for Nazareth (9:33.00) in the 4x800, boing 9:22.09. St. Hubert's took the DMR over Hunterdon Central, gong 12:29.82, to win by just over three seconds.
