5/11 - Corey Rogers captures both 1600m and 3200m

Pioneer Athletic Conference Championships

Corey Rogers of Pottsgrove, captured both the 1600 (4:25.46) and the 3200 (9:43.65). The Hurdles also boasted a double winner, with an upset of sorts in the 300, as Justin Gibbs of Pottstown, narrowly beat Great Valley's Galen Rivers, 40.01 to 40.07. Perkiomen Valley's Matt Carroll won both the 200 (22.66) and the 400 (49.33). For the girls, Spring-Ford's Meghan O'Neil showd both leg speed and strength, finished third in the 400 less than a half-second from the win in 58.57, and taking the 800 in 2:19.28 and the 1600 in 5:21.29. The Discus and Javelin belonged to Perkiomen Valley's Jackie Scogna, who threw the disc 115-09, and the Jav 122-03. Denise Edwards, Pottstown, won the Long Jump (18-03), and the Triple Jump (36-11).
