Charity Payne of Selinsgrove, continued to improve her season's best, winning the Shot Put with a throw of 43-11.25. Junior Ashleigh Wetzel of Lewisburg, rolled through the 1600 field, winning by over 18 seconds with her 5:03.32. But it was younger sister Abby Wetzel, a sophomore, who was the closest. Ashleigh also took the 3200, going 11:43.82; and anchored her team to the winning 4x800 in 9:40.56. Montoursville 11th grader Christa Sawko took both the 400 (1:00.48) and the 300 Hurdles (46.69). For the boys, Montoursville's Steve Huffman won the 100 (11.25) and 200 (22.86). He was 2nd in the 400 with a 50.67. Teammate Eric Baker took the one-lapper with his 50.06, and also captured the 800 with his 1:58.30. The 1600 and 3200 belonged to Lewisburg sophomore Chris Spooner, who went four laps in 4:24.26 and eight laps in 9:49.81. As did teammate Ashleigh Wetzel, he anchored Lewisburg to the winning 4x800, which went 8:12.59 with three sophomores and a freshman. Columbia senior Jeff Baird owned the 110 Hurdles (15.40) and the 300 Hurdles (40.03). Winning the unusual double of Long Jump and Javelin was Columbia senior Osagie Osunde (21-01.00 + 178-04). Junior teammate Rob Kerris took both the Shot Put (50-04.50) and the Discus (148-08).
