DVGTCA Indoor Meet #2
The relays were once again on fire on Lehigh's newly renovated indoor oval. Great Valley earned a comfortable victory in the distance medley relay with a national leading time of 12:30.5. Swenson ran a US#7 time of 1:45.86 to win the 4x200 meter relay. Pennsbury ran 4:07.41 to win the 4x400 meter relay. Individually, Emma Keenan of Gwynedd Mercy Academy set a new DVGTCA record in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:36.39, which was previously held by Latavia Thomas of West Catholic in 2004 (1:36.5). Sara Sargent of Pennsbury also ran her first open event of the indoor season, running 2:17.84 to win the 800 meter run. Imani Harris-Quillen of Swenson became the first PA athlete to break 60 seconds in the 400 meter dash with a winning time of 59.16. In the field events, Amanda Benninghoff of Council Rock South cleared 11-3 to win the pole vault. Claudine Andre of Upper Darby cleared 5-3 to win the high jump.

Franklin & Marshall HS Season Opener Meet #1
Mary Witmer of Ephrata won the 55 meter hurdles (9.00) and the 400 meter dash (1:00.76) on the track and also earned gold in the triple jump (33-11.25). Paige Stoner of Pottsville won the 3000 meter run (10:41.55) and the mile run (5:31.71). Freshman Emily Stauffer of Cocalico won the shot put with a mark of 38-9.25. Kennedy Shank of Northern and Madison Depner of Trinity cleared 10-9 to share the top spot in the pole vault.
For the boys, Shawn Wolfe of Annville-Cleona led a 1-2-3 finish for his school in the 800 meter run with a winning time of 1:59.55. He also won the 3000 meter run in 9:10.01 to hold off Jon Colwell of Mifflin County (9:10.43). Nelson Beimfohr of Oxford cleared 13-9 to win the pole vault. Elizae McDonald of Coatesville cleared 6-4 to win the high jump ahead of teammate Detrick Kimbrough (6-2). Coatesville's Shaquille Thomas won the long jump (20-2.25) and the 55 meter dash (6.81).

TFCAofGP Meet #2
In the early going of the 2012-13 season, the 3000 meter run has been electric! Last week, two division 1 runners ran sub 9:01 times. This week, three more performances under 9:01 were added. After just wrapping up very long cross country seasons, Dan Savage of Cardinal O'Hara and Max Norris of Harriton looked to get in a quick 3000 meter race before the holidays. The two did not disappoint and both ran US#1 and US#2 times! Savage came away as the winner with a Division 2 all time record of 8:47.94 with Norris running 8:48.29. Ben Szuhaj of Penn Charter ran 9:00.90 to finish 3rd. PA holds the top five 3000 meter performances in the country at this moment!
Other division 2 highlights included a win for Dan Alexander of Lower Moreland, running 2:00.62 to edue out Avery Scrupture of Upper Perkiomen (2:00.81) in the 800 meter run. Jack Huemmler of Strath Haven ran 4:31.75 to win the mile. Elon Rembert of Great Valley cleared 6-4 to win the high jump.
In division 1, Chris Spadaro of Council Rock South won the long jump with a PA#1 mark of 23-00.75. Spadaro now tops the state in both the long and triple jumps in the early going. Brad Rivera of Bensalem won the mile in a time of 4:29.01. Alec Brand of CB East ran 9:12.94 to win the 3000 meter run. Cheltenham became the first sub 1:35 4x200 meter relay team in PA this season with a winning time of 1:34.55. Kyree Willis-Lear of Cheltenham won the triple jump with a mark of 44-4.75.

Megan McCloskey of Germantown Academy finished 2nd in the girls high jump with a mark of 5-6, the 2nd time this season she has cleared that mark. Rowanna Watson of Norristown finished 7th in the 55 meter dash in 7.45. Caela Williams of Penn Wood finished 5th in the 300 meter dash in 41.39 (40.94 prelims). Williams was also on Penn Wood's winning 4x400 meter relay team that ran a PA and US#1 time of 3:57.74. Methacton ran 1:48.75 to finish 8th in the 4x200 meter relay. Seline Tan-Torres of Methacton finished 7th in the 600 meter run in 1:38.73. Radnor finished 8th in the 4x800 meter relay in a time of 10:12.28. Nicolette Serratore of Methacton finished 6th in the triple jump with a mark of 36-6.
For the boys, Joey Smith (6.66) and Mike Brown (6.71) of Norristown finished 6-7 in the 55 meter dash. Christian Hunter of Penn Wood ran 36.20 to finish 12th in the 300 meter dash. Curtis Watro of Methacton ran 4:34.51 to finish 13th in the mile with teammate Pat Hopkins finishing 15th in 4:36.02.

Schuylkill Valley boys produced the top two PA performances in the shot put, with Evan Arnott (56-7.50) and Jason Coon (56-4.50) breaking the 56 foot mark. The two have a 6 foot advantage over the rest of the state. Tim Moses of Palmyra continued his hot early season vaulting with a winning mark of 15-6. On the track, AA cross country state champion Vinny Todaro of Big Spring took the PA top spot in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:26.58.
For the girls, Casey Norton of Troy ran 11:32.65 to win the 3200 meter run. Rose Roesler of Carlisle won the long jump with a mark of 17-3.50. Rachel Kline of Palmyra cleared 5-4 to win the high jump. Grace Reidel of Delone Catholic cleared 11 feet to win the pole vault.
