AAA cross country state champion Courtney Smith of Unionville made her 2012-13 track season debut and picked up right where she left off in November. She won the 3000 meter run in a US#4 time of 10:04.19 and was 44 seconds ahead of 2nd place! Natalie Deacon of West Chester Henderson won the 800 meter run in a PA#3 time of 2:17.86. Teammate Stephanie Aldrich ran 5:16.86 to win the mile run. Great Valley took the state lead in the 4x800 meter relay with a US#4 time of 9:33.58. Ellie Pollock of Avon Grove won the long jump (17-0) and the triple jump (33-6). Brittany Plummer of Kennett cleared 11 feet to win the pole vault.

Pennridge took over the state lead in the distance medley relay with a US#3 time of 12:27.87. Central Bucks West was 2nd in a PA#4 and US#8 time of 12:37.78. Cardinal O'Hara came close to taking over the state lead in the 4x800 metet relay but had to settle for a PA#2 mark of 9:34.82. That performance is also US#5! Pennsbury was 2nd with a PA#3 and US#6 time of 9:37.58. Pennsbury did win the 4x400 meter relay with a PA#5 time of 4:04.59. Stephanie Aldrich of West Chester Henderson won the 3000 meter run with a PA#2 and US#8 time of 10:15.71 to hold off PA#3 and US#10 Veronica Eder of Central Bucks East (10:16.63). Aldrich's teammate Natalie Deacon won the 1000 meter run with a PA#2 time of 2:59.19. Rachel Flynn of Archbishop Carroll ran a PA#6 time of 5:17.54 to win the mile.

Ibn Short of Milton Hershey won the high jump with a state leading and T-US#2 mark of 6-9! Jason Coon (55-8) and Evan Arnott (46-9) of Schuylkill Valley finished 1-2 in a shot put competition for the 3rd time this season. Shawn Wolfe of Annville-Cleona won the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:34.39.
For the girls, Marshay Ryan of Chambersburg kicked off her 2013 season with two state leading marks. She won the long jump with a mark of 18 feet even and won the triple jump with a mark of 37-11.50. a meet record. Emily Stauffer of Cocalico improved on her state leading mark in the shot put with a winning performance of 40-3. Ericka Quenzer of Central Dauphin East cleared 5-3 to win the high jump. Paige Stoner of Pottsville set two meet records, winning the 1600 meter run in 5:19.49 and the 3000 meter run in a PA#7 time of 10:32.57. |

Swenson performed very well in the sprint events at one of Maryland's biggest meets of the indoor season. Amani Nesmith (7.29) and Jameela Muhammad (7.33) finished 3rd and 4th in the 55 meter dash. Imani Harris-Quillen finished 4th in the 300 meter dash with a time of 41.14. Tichina Rhodes ran 1:19.49 in the 500 meter run to finish 8th. Swenson won the prelims of the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:44.52, but did not compete in the finals. Emma Keenan of Gwynedd Mercy Academy won the 800 meter run for the 2nd straight year at this meet with a time of 2:16.49. Teammate Liz Forcellini finished 5th in the shot put with a PA#4 mark of 38-0.25. For the boys, Niager Mathis of Swenson finished 2nd in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.51. Mathis also added a 5th place finish in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:07.43.

Gina Aim of Hampton ran a PA#4 time of 5:12.04 to win the mile. Mary Malone of North Hills recorded her own PA#4 performance in the 3000 meter run with a winning time of 10:22.66. Inda McCoy of Ambridge Area cleared a PA#3 mark of 5-5 to win the high jump. Rebekah Petty of Greenville made it a 3 way tie at the top of the state list in the pole vault with a winning clearance of 11-6. Lydia Dennis of Mars Area won the long jump with a PA#3 mark of 17-3. Sidney Black of Norwin took a half inch lead on top of the state list in the triple jump with a winning mark of 36-10.50. Dennis finished 2nd in the triple jump with a PA#3 mark of 36-5.50. Emily Campbell of Slippery Rock threw a PA#3 mark of 39-2 to win the shot put. Rachel Fyalkowski of Hempfield finished 2nd with a PA#4 mark of 38-11.50.
For the boys, Joey Wall of Ringgold ran a PA#7 time of 7.05 to win the 60 meter dash. Jimmy Wheeler of West Mifflin ran a PA#3 time of 22.67 to win the 200 meter dash. Sherman West (50.59) and Chandler Crusan (50.80) of Hempfield finished 1-2 in the 400 meter dash. Their marks moved them up to PA#4 and 5 respectively. Ethan Martin of Fox Chapel ran a PA#5 time of 8:59.13 to win the 3000 meter run. Nick Conway of Port Allegheny ran a PA#3 time of 8.21 to win the 60 meter hurdles ahead of T-PA#5 Mathre Bernadaskie of Elizabeth Forward (8.31). Malik Moffett of Cathedral Prep cleared 5-5 to win the high jump and won the triple jump with a PA#7 mark of 43-10.25. Nick Anderson of Kane Area cleared 14-3 to win the pole vault and move up to PA#2. Isaiah Brooks of Woodland Hills won the long jump with a PA#5 mark of 22-8.50.
