PTXC Track and Field Athletes of the Week February 14

Boys

Track

Elias Graca of Fox Chapel ran the fastest 800 meters of his career, indoors or outdoors, out at the SPIRE Showcase on Saturday. The senior clocked a victorious PA#3 and US#4 1:53.13, giving PA three of the top four 800 meters runners on the boys side in the country. His fastest 800 meter run indoors prior to Saturday was 1:570 He does have a 1:53 outdoor PR from last May's District 7 Championships.


Field

Jordan Geist of Knoch continues to outperform himself whenever steps into the throwing circle this season. The sophomore continued his incredible season by setting another personal best in the shot with a US#2 mark of 66-0.75, his 5th personal best of the season!



Girls

Track

Olivia Sargent of Pennsbury electrified on the national stage with a runner up finish at the Millrose Games. The junior ran a lifetime best 4:51.02 in the mile to move up to PA#2 and US#4 in the country. She ran a pretty even race after a 2:25 half mile split.


Field

Emily Stauffer of Cocalico once again was dominant in a big meet as she continues to tune up for the state championships. Stauffer recorded her 2nd best throw of the season at the PTFCA Indoor Carnival with a winning throw of 46-0.50. She has won seven of her nine meets this season and still holds the best mark in the state at 47-10.
