Downingtown West boys flexed their mighty muscle last week at Carlisle with a comfortable victory to kick off their invitational season. Jaxson Hoey, Josh Hoey, and Henry Sappey all broke 16 minutes and the top seven all broke 17 minutes. West Chester Henderson finished 4th in the same race.
At Foundation, North Allegheny kept their title defense on course with a victory over Lasalle thanks to a strong top four. Lasalle earned their 2nd straight runner up finish. Central Bucks West rotated their team but still achieved victory at the Council Rock Invitational.
For girls teams, Perkiomen Valley have emerged as the surprise package of the season after securing a narrow win over North Allegheny at PIAA Foundation. Led by Annie Glodek's last gasp victory, Perkiomen Valley have finished in the top two in both of their major invitational appearances.
Meanwhile at Carlisle, Cumberland Valley won by 20 points over Manheim Township and 21 points over Chambersburg to get the edge over their district rivals. North Penn girls travelled to New Jersey and the Six Flags Invitational and earned their first win of the season thanks to a 1-2-3 sweep up front.

Individually, Jaxson Hoey's 15:28 is now the fastest time in the state and is the best of his career. Brother Josh has the 3rd fastest time in the state with his 15:40. Jake Brophy of Central Bucks East was a big winner at Foundation, while Connor McMenamin of Souderton ran 15:41 to win at Six Flags, missing the course record by 4 seconds. The AAA division currently has ten sub 16 minute runners through four weeks.
Aislinn Devlin of Downingtown West won the Carlisle Invite in 18:04, the 2nd fastest time in the state this season, 11 seconds off the top. Mady Clahane of Cumberland Valley and Abby Yourkavitch of Chambersburg both ran 18:13 trying to chase Devlin in the same race to crack the division's top five. Annie Glodek of Perkiomen Valley edged out Clara Savchik of North Allegheny to win the gold race at Foundation. Ariana Gardizy of North Penn was victorious at Six Flags.
