DVGTCA Indoor Meet #6

Four teams came to the last DVGTCA meet at Lehigh last Friday. It's a safe bet that more teams will show up for this week's meet, and there should be some fun things to watch for.

Field: PA#2 Moira O'Malley from Souderton returns to the mat in the high jump, coming in as the likely favorite. Madison Langley-Walker of Chelteham has been PA#1 in the long jump for a LONG time (since December 29 to be exact). She'll look to go past that PA#1 18-2 mark and improve on that distance. Langley-Walker will return in the triple jump, going against Christina Warren of Perkiomen Valley and Allison Williams of North Penn. The pole vault will feature the Council Rock South duo of Dominique Franco and Savannah Wood. Franco is currently PA#1, while Wood is PA#7. Leading the shot put field is Cheltenham's Ashley Alexander, fresh off a nice indoor PR at Kevin Dare.

Relays: Look out for North Penn (per usual), who may go after a 4x400 and/or DMR. Strath Haven and Ridley will look to challenge in a potentially fast DMR.

Sprints/Hurdles: The 60 meters will be a good battle between Paul Robeson's Jameela Muhammad and freshman upstart Thelma Davis of Penn Wood. Upper Merion's Ariana Ramsey is another contender in the short sprint. In the 60 hurdles, Perkiomen Valley freshman Christina Warren leads in a field that also includes Cheltenham's Bria Barnes, who we've seen run fast in the sprints, but not yet in the hurdles. The 200 field is led by Springside Chestnut Hill's Brooklynn Broadwater and also includes the aforementioned Muhammad and Davis. The 400 meters should be an interesting matchup between North Penn's Uche Nwogwugwu and Springside Chestnut Hill's Alexandria Kitchell. Penn Wood's Agnes Mansaray will be in the 600 meters, possibly shooting for Gabrielle Wilkinson's PA#1 in the event.

Distance: The mile will feature North Penn's Ariana Gardizy, Penn Wood's Terri Turner, Cheltenham's MaryGrace Rittler, and Harriton's Tasha Greene in a nicely assembled field.
