Harbor Creek Invitational - Meet Recap

It was a big day in the throws for the Hickory girls. Tori McKinley won the shot put in 44 ft. 9 inches and her teammate Michaela Burkhauser threw 37 ft. ​9.5 inches​ for second place. The pair came back to go 1,2 in the discus as well. McKinley threw 141-1 while Burkhauser followed again with a throw of 132 ft. ​-1 inches.​ McKinley's toss in the discus puts her at PA#1.

Lillian Hill of North East threw 133-4 to win the girls' javelin.

In the boys throws, two Cathedral Prep throwers took first. ​Cameron Landis won the shot with a throw​ of 53 ft. 8.5 inches. Nolan Landis won the discus with a throw of 161 ft. 10 inches.

In the high jump, Carlye Zahner of North East jumped 5 ft. 4 in. for the win. 

Hickory's Heather Grober picked up the win in the 300 meter hurdles. The defending AA state champ went 47.32 for the victory. In the girls 1600m Carlee Constable of Villa Maria ran 5:18.25, which is a solid early season time. Also on the track, Morgan Donatelli of Hickory broke 60 seconds for the win in the girls 400m dash.​

The Hickory boys had a day in the sprints. Dozie Ezi-Ashi won both the 100 meters (10.96) and the 200 meters (22.90), while William Gruber took home the win in the 400 meters (52.45). Cathedral Prep's Derek Jones won the 800 meters in 1:59.46, and Mercyhurst Prep's Noah Curtin was the 1600 meter winner in 4:31.74.

The Hickory girls won both the 4x100 (51.55) and the 4x400 (4:09.91). Villa Maria took down the meet record in the 4x800 meters, running 10:03.93.
