AAA Girls' 4x800m Relay Preview
North Penn has been comfortable at the top of the rankings in the girls 4x800 meter relay since they ran their 8:55.88 at Penn Relays last month. As defending state champions, this security in success was totally warranted. However, a challenge came last weekend when North Penn's anchor got the baton in second to Strath Haven. Anchor Mikaela Vlasic pulled out the win, but it proves that even those at the top need to be on their toes.
North Penn ladies are still the heavy favorite to win, but Strath Haven ladies ran an impressive 9:10.97 last weekend placing them solidly as #2 among the rest of the relays.
The rest of the medals are definitely up for grabs in what will be a very competitive race. Tons of teams from District 1 and 3 have run in the low 9:20s this season such as Hershey, Palmyra, Perkiomen Valley, Downingtown East, Central Bucks East, and Central Bucks West. Look for District 7's Oakland Catholic ladies to be in the mix as well. The District 11 champs from Southern Lehigh just keep getting better and are worth watching for.Entries:
