Girls' Recap

Thelma Davies season started off well. The Girard College junior pulled away for the 200 meter win in her lone race of the day in Maryland. Davies clocked a 24.45 for the easy win.

In the 400 meters, Neumann Goretti's Mykala Perry posted a great time in a very competitive race. She finished fourth overall in 56.25. That's a PA#1 by a wide margin and just off her outdoor PR from last spring. Elicia Moore of Penn Wood was eighth overall in 57.40, a PA#3. In the 800 meters, Dasia Wilson of Neumann Goretti took fourth in 2:15.44, a PA#2. Penn Wood's Kyra Carroll was fifth in a PA#6 time of 2:16.96.

Sydni Townsend of N-G won the 400-meter hurdles in a very close race. She clocked a PR and PA#1 time of 1:00.91. The Neumann Goretti girls also won the 4x800-meter relay in 9:27.63 for a new PA#1.

Penn Wood went 4:00.07 to win the 4x400-meter relay and move into the PA#2 spot.

Friends' Central's Inara Shell took second in the triple jump, leaping 38-11, a new PA#2. Tia Taylor of Saint Basil's was third with a PA#5 leap of 38-02.5. Taylor also took fourth in the long jump with a jump of 18-07.5.

In the 100 meters, Norristown's Jonae Cook (PA#3) took sixth in 12.11 and Lower Merion's Aja Davis (PA#5) was eighth in 12.21 in a strong race for both girls.


Boys' Recap

Miles Green of Saint Joseph's Prep dominated races that were one lap in length on Saturday at Bullis in Maryland. Green ran 52.50 in the 400-meter hurdles to capture the runaway win. That's a huge PA#1 and slots him in at US#2. He then returned to win the 400 meters in 47.83 for a new PA#1, capping a strong meet for the senior.

In the 800 meters, Neumann Goretti's Kamil Jihad picked up the win in 1:55.15 for a PA#2, just .12 off the state leading spot. Talus Gaymore of Penn Wood took second in 1:57.89 (PA#8).
