Girls' Recap
Clara Savchik of North Allegheny was a double winner on the day. She captured wins in both the 1,600 meters (5:11.12) and 3,200 meters (11:07.85). Norwin's Jessica Kolesar looked strong, winning both the 200 meters (25.27) and the long jump (PA#7 18-00.25).
Hempfield Area's Mackenna Orie also grabbed a pair of victories, winning the discus (126-10) and the shot put (39-10.5).
Boys' Recap
Friday marked the invitational debut of Ayden Owens. The North Allegheny senior made plenty of history during the indoor season, but he proved at Latrobe that he's ready for an even bigger outdoor season. Owens swept the hurdles, first running14.02 to win the 110-meter hurdles. Then he came back in the 300-meter hurdles to win in 37.44, which puts him at PA#1 and US#8. Owens also won the long jump with a leap of 23-04, currently a PA#3.
Hempfield Area's Eudel Moreta had a strong day. He won the 100 meters in 11.28 and then came back to win the 200 meters in 22.16, which is a PA#3.
