More Week 4 Highlights

At the Knights Invitational at North Penn on Thursday afternoon, Jonathon Squadrito of LaSalle cleared 6-07 a then-PA#1 for the win. The reigning outdoor state champ now sits tied for PA#3 (WATCH RACE VIDEOS!).
At the Cal Track Carnival at California University of PA, Hopewell's Noah Drudy tossed a PA#1 in the javelin. He threw a PR of 194-11 for the win, PR, and state lead. He was eighth in AA at states last year.
At mid-week dual meets, PA#1 and PA#2 in the girls' javelin were set. Mifflin County's Skylar Ciccolini threw 157-07 against State College for the state lead. Elizabeth Forward's Brianna Spirnak threw 149-00 against Thomas Jefferson, the second best throw in the state this season.
At the Molly Dry Invitational at Mansfield University, Athens Area's Breana Gambrell improved upon her own state lead in the long jump. Gambrell leapt 20-00, which is also a US#7 for the win. She also ran 12.04 in the 100 meter prelims (12.06 in the finals) for the win and a new PA#2.
At the Tamaqua Blue Raider Invitational, Payden Montana of Berwick had a great start to her outdoor season. She threw a PA#1/US#2 of 47-00.5 in the shot put to win, as well as a PA#2 145-09 in the discus. Marian Catholic's Tina Capparell ran 5:06.66 (PA#4) to win the 1,600 meters. Chris Fredericks of Palmerton wont he javelin with a throw of 186-11 (PA#5).
At the Temple Twilight Relays, the Roman Catholic boys clocked a PA#2 time of 42.71 in the 4x100-meter relay for a close win over Motivation, which ran a PA#8.
At the Arctic Blast Invitational at Northern, Marlee Starliper of the host school ran to a PA#1 in the 1,600 meters in 4:55.08, one week after her US#1 in the 5K. Kolt Byers of Bermudian Springs jumped a PA#1 of 6-08 in the high jump to start his outdoor season off well (he won the indoor state title in the event). Defending AAA discus state champ, Madisen Kling of Red Lion thrww a PA#3 of 141-04 for the win in the event.
At the Bedford Giant Eagle Invitational, it was a big day for Somerset Area's Nick Hyde, who won the shot put with a PA#2 throw of 55-08.5 and took second in the discus (152-02). Duane Knisley of Chestnut Ridge won the disc with a throw of 152-03. Ethan Dabbs of Bedford threw a PA#4 in the javelin (189-09) for the win. On the girls' side, Morgan Gossard of Richland jumped 12-00 (PA#4) to win the pole vault.
At the Bensalem Invitational, Pennsbury's Joshua Anturase threw a PA#4 to win the discus, tossing it 160-11, which is over a 15 foot improvement from his previous PR.
At the DeMans Team Sports Brookville Invitational, the throws on the girls' side went off! Trinity Clark of Kane Area won a competitive javelin throw with a toss of 148-06 for a new PA#3. Punxsutawney Area's Sam Dyson won both the shot put (39-07) and discus (130-09) in what was a big day for the senior.
At the Lady Skins Invitational at Neshaminy High School, Springside Chestnut Hill's Alexandria Kitchell ran 57.74 (hand) in the 400 meters for the win and a PA#5.
At the Panther Invitational at Strath Haven, Alton McKenley of Bonner & Prendie put down a huge performance in the long jump. The senior had a breakthrough leap of 23-11 for the win and a new PA#1.
At the Susquehanna High School Classic, the Selinsgrove throwers on both the boys and girls sides had terrific days. Piper Klinger tossed a PR and PA#1 in the discus with a throw of 146-01.5 and also won the shot put with a throw of 41-05. Keith Dreese won the shot put in a PA#4 54-03 and Brennen Wolf won the discus with a throw of 159-10.5 (PA#5).
At the TFCAofGP Spring Invitational at Coatesville, the 800 meters was the event of the day. Radnor's Ethan Zeh earned the win in a time of 1:56.51. Quakertown's Hudson Delisle (1:56.88) was second, Central Bucks East's David Endres (1:57.08) was third, and Chester's Lamaj Curry (1:59.33) was fourth.
At the Wallenpaupack Ice Breaker Relays, Pittston Area's Abby Norwillo vaulted to the state lead in the pole vault. Norwillo jumped 12-08 for the win and PA#1 (she jumped 13-00.75 indoors).
