Individuals Breakdown: District 6 Boys

D6-AAA Boys - Individuals Breakdown

Expect to see some good talent come out of District 6 Class AAA this season. A pair of rising seniors look to be the favorites for the top spot this season.

The top returner, based on district finish, is Owen Isham of State College Area. Isham will be aiming to keep the Little Lions on top of D6-AAA for the sixth straight season. Last year, Mitchell Etter won the title. But he'll face a steep challenge from Chayce Macknair of Mifflin County, who closed out his junior season in a big way last year. After taking third at districts, Macknair placed 18th at the state meet, making him the No. 4 returner in the state in AAA based on states finish.

This should shake out to be an interesting race for the top spot in the district.

Brayden Harris, also of Mifflin County, will be in the conversation for the top spot in D6-AAA as well. He was fourth last year at districts. He was then 91st at states, but he closed out his sophomore XC season by winning the frosh/soph race at Foot Locker Northeast. Harris will look for an even bigger junior season.

After that, it will be a close race for the other state qualifying spots, and in the case of strong State College and Mifflin County teams, crucial team points. Mifflin has another strong pair after its top two back in Chase Sheaffer and Seth Phillips. Both will look to get inside the top five of the district. State College has Joe Messner and rising sophomore Bennett Norton, who will factor in near the front.

Central Mountain's Corbin Green and Altoona Area's Brayden Henninger are among the other solid individuals that will look for high finishes this season, too.
