14 Outrageous Out-of-State Performances

It was an almost unbelievable weekend for Pennsylvanians who decided to travel out of state. From US Top 10s to PA No. 1's, Pennsylvania's prowess expanded up the eastern seaboard. These are our Top 14 of those performances.

Laila Campbell hits another US Top-5 time in the 60

Though she didn't improve on her 7.50 from earlier in the season, Laila Campbell's 7.54 still ranks as a US No. 4 and the fastest time by a Pennsylvanian this year. Her weekend's mark is the 7th fastest that we have ever seen by a PA Junior, which is saying something if it is not even her best.

She also ran 24.3 in the 200m, which is a current US No. 3. She has run 23.7 in the past, so we expect that this is just a start for her.

Campbell defeated impressive fields, amongst some of the best sprinters in the Northeast, at the Pre-National Tune-Up hosted by The TRACK at New Balance.

Avery Lewis runs two US Top-5s at the same meet

Because why not? Or at least that's how easy she makes it look.

Avery Lewis broke 56 in the 400m and 7.00 in the 55m to claim US No. 3 and No. 5 marks, respectively, at The Armory Hispanic Games.

Her 6.98 in the 55m dash is the third fastest by a junior in PA history and would go down as the 11th fastest mark in PA history overall... if she didn't already hold the No. 5 mark.

Absurd Mile Performances

Keating and Tarpley lean at the Line - Todd McDonough

PA No. 1, 2, and 3s for the PA Natives at the Armory this past weekend. Ella Woehlcke ran ahead of Therese Trainer, and Alli DeLisi as the three stormed to sub 5:10 times of 5:03.38, 5:05.43, and 5:07.52, respectively.

Although in a 1600m, Carolyn Tarpley turned in a 5:05.91 at the Ocean Breeze Freedom Games, which currently stands as a PA No. 1. There, she edged out Madelyn Keating at the line as she finished two-hundredths of a second behind her.

As a result - after a 1600m to Mile conversion, the five girls mentioned above all sweep the PA Top 5.

Incredible Doubles

But why stop with Mile times? Woehlcke and DeLisi doubled back in the 800m to claim PA No.1 and No. 2 marks of 2:13.02 and 2:15.78. They swept the top two spots.

Tarpley also had a very impressive double, running a 10:05 3k. That is a US No. 4 mark and a PA No. 1.

Castronuovo claims a US Top 15

In the 2 Mile at the Armory Hispanic Games, Matt Castronuovo broke out a 9:40 2-Mile. That currently ranks US No. 11 and PA No. 1 in the event. He also ran a 4:25.91 Mile, which is a PA No. 8.
