Thursday – October 19, 2006
Training: 40 minutes
Strength: 25 minutes abs and back strength.
Day Mileage: 5.5 miles
Week Total: 22.5 miles
Where: Thun
Weather: high of 60s and sunny.
Details: Next week I will hit around 50 miles and then stay around 50 to 60 for a couple weeks. My right hamstring has been bothering me for a while now so I don't want to push anything I am not ready for. Patience, patience, patience…Last year I said it may take a couple of years to really "break out" and that I was patient…I AM NOT PATIENT! But I have to force myself to try and stay sane. I am starting with my Master's degree on Monday at the University of Bern, so I know things will be great once I am a student-athlete once again. I am also working part time at the same job I've had for about a half a year (English for kids). I will have a normal routine from week to week and that has always gone well with training. A routine is very important. My doctor, who is certified by Swiss Olympic, has told me that several times. A routine is better for sport! So after Monday, I will be 'routine-ing' it up for the next couple of years! I could graduate in two years, but I will most likely get my PH (which is a higher-level of a teacher certification) so I may go for three to make sure that I can still be able to dedicate enough time to running!
