Saturday– March 3, 2007 – Swiss Champs
Training:  70 mins
              Race: 8k in the mud with LOTS OF WIND!
Day Mileage: 9 miles
Week Total:  47 miles
          The cross country course was CRAZY today.  It was REALLY muddy and even the winner could barely keep a 4 minute pace per km.  It was a very slow, slow race, but a very tough one!  If you wanted a good time, you really had to horse through the mud, and I don't have that much, a-hem, horse power in me.  I can be a fast and smooth runner on the roads, but then throw me on some soft, muddy mud (giggle) cross-country course and my strength is gone after a few K.  It didn't go horribly, but it didn't go great.  I am REALLY pumped for my road races because I know that I'll be a lot better off on the roads than on the mud…It WAS a short cross country season though, only 2 races!  But like I've mentioned, cross country champs wasn't really on my "A-list" this year.  Bring on those roads, baby!!!!

          Long run today, solid pace, but controlled.
